Beyond beer…
An invitation to change the world.
Beer is our passion, and New Zealand’s brewing industry wants the quality and creativity of New Zealand beer to be celebrated at home and around the world. That’s why now is the time to join the circular economy and take a principled yet commercial approach to address the dark side of this industry – single-use packaging waste.
Today, we are inviting you to join this initiative and participate in a circular packaging pilot, powered by circular packaging enabler Again Again. The government and industry stakeholders are supporting the project too with co-funding from the Ministry for the Environment's Te Tahua Pūtea mō te Kirihou Auaha - Plastics Innovation Fund, Garage Project, and the Glass Packaging Forum.
At this stage, we are just asking for industry input to help us understand what the most functional system and vessel might look like. Over the next two months, we will host two industry huis in order to collect your ideas, and help us design a system that is most likely to actually succeed.
The intention is to make the most sustainable option the easiest and cheapest for customers, and also to provide a commercially viable framework in which retailers can provide their customers access to reusable packaging.
By working together we can provide enormous public good. New Zealand’s brewers can once again show the world why this little country, and our quality craft beer, is the best in the world.
